Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which displays a clear and bright moving image in spite of its extremely simple structure.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having a plurality of scan lines and a back light. The back light applies a plurality of quantities of light varying with time on the side of the liquid crystal display panel within a cycle to control the plurality of scan lines, and a screen is scanned to display black in one screen scan of a plurality of screen scans.
