Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus that can prevent moisture contained in an ink from evaporating from a discharge port of a recording head without imposing limitations on the flexibility of a configuration of the recording head.SOLUTION: The recording apparatus performs recording by reciprocal scanning of the recording head 3 from which the ink is discharged. The recording apparatus includes: a discharge port-forming surface 3b on the recording head 3, where the discharge port from which the ink is discharged is formed; and a discharge port-humidifying unit provided adjacent to at least one of ends of the discharge port-forming surface 3b in reciprocating directions in which the recording head 3 is scanned. The discharge port-humidifying unit humidifies air around the discharge port-forming surface 3b.
