Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger which has a function of bypassing a cooling medium, moreover, has a compact structure and enables not only the opening and closing of a bypassing path but also the flow rate control at an intermediate position other than a valve-opening position and a valve-closing position.SOLUTION: The heat exchanger includes: a lamination core 3; flow ports functioning as a flow inlet and a flow outlet for the lamination core 3; a bypass pipe path 12 having connection flange parts 15, 16 for the flow ports; an inflow port 13 and an outflow port 14; and a flow rate control valve 20 driven by solenoid 22 for performing flow rate control including the opening and closing of the bypass pipe path 12. Three of the bypass pipe path 12, the flow rate control valve 20 and the solenoid 22 are preliminarily united as a bypass piping unit 4 and are connected attachably/detachably to/from the flow port of the lamination core 3 side with connection flange parts 15, 16.
