PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processor for electronic endoscope which enables an operator to simultaneously and easily perform observation through the electronic endoscope and write a comment with less burden, and allows the comment to be superimposed on an endoscopic image.SOLUTION: The processor for electronic endoscope includes: a model detecting circuit for detecting model information of an electronic endoscope; a storage storing a word/phrase database in which priority parameters can be set for each word/phrase on an observed part and for each observed part indicated by the model information; a database processing means for extracting a plurality of words/phrases and priority parameters corresponding to each of the plurality of words/phrases from the word/phrase database by using the model information; a word/phrase display means for displaying the words/phrases extracted based on the priority parameters as word candidates, on a monitor; and a word input means for accepting input as to whether display the words/phrases displayed as the word/phrase candidates as a comment. An image processing circuit displays the words/phrases accepted by the word/phrase input means as a comment.
