Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a hearing-impaired person to comprehend information more easily and more rapidly by corresponding to community of sign language. SOLUTION: A community-based sign language generation system includes: an input unit 111 for input of at least one text from an external system 200; a retrieval unit 112 which refers to a first storage unit 101 for each input text to retrieve a corresponding sign language ID and retrieves a sign language expression video corresponding to the retrieved sign language ID from a second storage unit 102; and an output unit 113 for output of the sign language expression video of each retrieved text. In the first storage unit 101, for the text where a unique sign language individually created for each community and comprehensible only in the community exists, a sign language ID of the sign language expression video for the community is stored. In the second storage unit 102, a standard sign language expression video comprehensible beyond the community and a unique sign language expression video comprehensible only in a prescribed community are stored.
