Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Mo-saving ferritic stainless steel for an automotive exhaust system member which can obtain corrosion resistance after heating and workability equal to or above those of SUS 436L(17Cr-1.2Mo series) without incorporating Mo therein. SOLUTION: The ferritic stainless steel for an automotive exhaust system member has a composition comprising, by mass, ≤0.015% C, 0.01 to 0.50% Si, 0.01 to 0.50% Mn, ≤0.050% P, ≤0.010% S, ≤0.015% N, 0.010 to 0.100% Al, 16.5 to 22.5% Cr, 0.5 to 2.0% Ni and 0.01 to 0.50% Sn, further comprising one or two selected from 0.03 to 0.30% Ti and 0.03 to 0.30% Nb, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and, if required, further comprising one or two selected from 0.01 to 0.50% Mo, 0.01 to 0.50% Cu and 0.0005 to 0.0050% B.
