Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting breakage of a windowpane for a vehicle capable of achieving low power consumption. SOLUTION: A clip is arranged on a windowpane, and is energized by a force for crushing the windowpane generated when the windowpane is broken. A movable piece is displaced by crushing the windowpane when the windowpane is broken with the clip. A second mechanical type switch SW2 inverts opening and closing conditions of a movable contact point and a stationary contact point, and a communication means (a control part 73, a transmission part 72) receives power supply from a power source, so as to transmit signals for notifying the breakage of the windowpane.
