Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of battery performance by preventing the deformation of a power generation element group and a connection plate. SOLUTION: The connection plate 5B includes a mounting part 51 formed along the inner face of a battery lid 3, a side face 52 curved from the mounting part 51 at an approximately right angle and extending long along the side face of a battery can 1 toward the bottom face, and a joint piece 53 curved from a lower half of the side face toward the power generation element group 6 at an approximately right angle. The joint piece 53 has a swollen portion 54 formed in a middle between joints 8B1, 8b2 and bent into a trapezoidal shape in the direction of being farther from uncoated parts 6A, 6B, and a void 10 formed between it and the uncoated part 6B. As a result, a middle portion 7 of the uncoated part 6B is stably shaped with each layer while escaping in the thickness direction (vertical direction of a drawing) to dissipate or reduce an internal force remaining in each layer of the uncoated part 6B.
