Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably control the temperature of a second fixing unit when a printing process is not performed. SOLUTION: If information about paper required for a fixing process by a second fixing unit 116 (i.e., a set temperature value indicating the temperature at which the fixing roller 201 of the fixing unit 116 should be maintained to perform the fixing process on paper) has been stored in a table 501 in an HDD 311, a CPU 305 in the main controller 301 of the printer exerts the control in which the temperature of the fixing roller 201 in the second fixing unit 116 is set to prescribed temperature when a printing process is not performed. Conversely, if the information about paper required for the fixing process by the second fixing unit 116 is not stored in the table 501 in the HDD 311, the CPU 305 does not exert this control, in which the temperature of the fixing roller 201 of the second fixing unit 116 is set to the prescribed temperature when the printing process is not performed.
