PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function separation type functional joining sheet for which densification, acceleration and multilayering are applied, and a method for strengthening the surface of a metal product using the same. SOLUTION: The function separation type functional joining sheet 10 is obtained by molding a functional powder layer 12 and a brazing filler metal powder layer 13 for brazing/joining to the surface of a metal to both the sides of a core material sheet 11 by powder clad rolling, and the brazing filler metal powder layer 13 in the function separation type functional joining sheet 10 is placed on the surface of a metal product 20, and brazing is performed to form a specified functional layer on the surface of the metal product 20.
