Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of an electrooptical device with ultralow power consumption. SOLUTION: In the electrooptical device that updates image data based on image data held in a pixel, by presetting one signal among a plurality of signals for controlling an image data updating means within a pixel circuit before the signal becomes active, it is possible to make inactive voltages of the plurality of signals constant and reduce a required voltage level. Further, by making active timing of the plurality of signals periodical and making an active period width fixed, it is possible to simplify a configuration of a peripheral circuit such as a power circuit and a signal generation circuit, and further prevent long-term direct current application to an electrooptical element, and extend a life of the electrooptic element.
