Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spray material which has fast-setting property and initial strength development comparable to those of a powdery quick setting agent, can reduce the shrinkage quantity of a hardened body thereof and the quantity of ions to be eluted therefrom and can make small the quantity of powdery dust to be produced therefrom, and to provide a spraying method using the spray material. SOLUTION: The spray material contains: cement concrete containing cement, aggregate and a quaternary ammonium salt compound; alkali metal silicate having 3.3-4.5 molar ratio (SiO2/R2O) (wherein R is Li, Na or K) of silicon to the alkali metal salt in terms of oxides thereof; and a strength increasing material. The spraying method includes the steps of: forcibly feeding the cement concrete containing cement, aggregate and the quaternary ammonium salt compound by using a pump; mixing an aqueous solution of the alkali metal silicate to be fed by a liquid forcibly-feeding pump with the strength increasing material to be conveyed pneumatically, just before they are merged/mixed in the forcibly-fed cement concrete, to obtain slurry; and merging/mixing the obtained slurry with the cement concrete.
