Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainfall measuring unit and a method of attaching a rain gauge which satisfy both of good radio communication and highly precise rainfall measurement by disposing the rain gage near an antenna unit sufficiently considering influence on radio communication electric waves as well as influence on rainfall measuring accuracy. SOLUTION: The rainfall measuring unit U includes the antenna unit A and a rain gauge S disposed near the antenna unit A. The antenna unit A includes rod-like antenna arms 4 radially extending from a base point 8 in an approximately horizontal plane P and rod-like antennas 6 of which lower ends 6a are supported at near the tips 5 in radial direction of the antenna arms 4 and of which upper ends 6b extend vertically in upper direction. The rain gauge S is formed into a vertically extending cylindrical shape having an aperture to receive water at the upper side and disposed so that the position in height of the uppermost part 10 in the upper side is substantially no higher than the horizontal plane P.
