Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a stress applied from an object, separately into a plurality of directions (a vertical direction, a shearing direction) by a comparatively simple structure. SOLUTION: An FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) sensor 22 includes stress detection sensor parts 27 made up from optical fibers 20x, 20y in which gratings 26x, 26y that reflect light of a specified wavelength are arrayed along a plane which is parallel to an application direction of a shearing stress received from an object and vertical to an application direction of a vertical stress received from the object, and a stress direction conversion part 29 that converts the vertical stress into a stress in the direction along the plane and transmits it to the gratings 26x, 26y.
