PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective tape peeling device capable of automatically returning in case of a peeling miss as well as reduction in consumption of a peeling tape during peeling of a protective tape from a substrate surface. SOLUTION: The protective tape peeling device which peels the protective tape 4 on the surface of the substrate 2 with the peeling tape 5 includes a peeling table 10 for holding the substrate 2, a supply means 11 for the rolled peeling tape 5, a tape take-up means 12, a sticking roller 27, a cutter 32 for cutting a sticking rear side of the peeling tape 5 after the peeling tape 5 is stuck on a sticking front end side of the protective tape 4, a cutter table 29 for holding the peeling tape 5, and a peeling tape holding mechanism 25 for holding the peeling tape 5 at a rear part. The protective tape peeling device sticks the peeling tape 5 on the peeling front end side of the protective tape 4, peels the protective tape 4, and cuts the sticking rear side of the peeling tape 5 with the cutter 32. Further, the protective tape peeling device sticks a front end part of the peeling tape 5 on a cutting rear side on a peeling rear end side of the protective tape 4 and peels the protective tape 4 while connecting it with the peeling tape 5.
