Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an insensible zone with respect to radiation, when a plurality of units are arranged in parallel. SOLUTION: A radiation detection unit 1 includes a PD array 5 that includes a plurality of PD elements 13 arranged to face a scintillator 3 and output electrode pads 23 arranged to correspond to the PD elements 13; an integrated circuit 7 for processing signals from the PD elements 13; a flexible board 9, whereon the PD array 5 and the integrated circuit 7 are mounted; and a radiation shielding plate 11, that is provided to face the PD array 5 with the flexible board 9 in between and is so formed that the ends 11a may be located within the PD array 5. The output electrode pads 23 are arranged in a pitch shorter than that of the PD elements 13. By having the flexible board 9 bent at intermediate regions A3between a region wherein the PD array 5 is mounted and a region wherein the integrated circuit 7 is mounted along the ends 11a, the integrated circuit 7 is located interposed on the side opposite from the PD elements 13, with the radiation-shielding plate 11 therebetween.
