Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer dispersion used in a low VOC coating formulation. SOLUTION: The aqueous polymer dispersion comprises polymer particles (A), polymer particles (B) and at least one low molecular-weight polymer (C), wherein polymer particles (A) comprise a high molecular-weight polymer pA having Mw>50,000 and an acid number of 0-160, polymer particles (B) comprise a high molecular-weight polymer pB having Mw>50,000 and an acid number of 0-160, and C is an addition polymer having a calculated Tg,(low) of less than 10°C, Mn<10,000, and an acid number of 0-80, formed by polymerization of at least one ethylenically unsaturated nonionic monomer.
