Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering organic solvents using an activated-carbon column from a gas containing the organic solvents, especially halogenated hydrocarbons and lower alcohols. SOLUTION: The mixed gas containing halogenated hydrocarbons and lower alcohols is supplied to the activated-carbon column loaded with activated carbon by which the halogenated hydrocarbons and lower alcohols are adsorbed and recovered. The activated carbon loaded in the activated-carbon column is treated beforehand so as to contain water and the mixed gas is supplied to the activated-carbon column at a temperature of 25-40°C and a relative humidity of 30-50%. When Ta is defined as a time when the concentration of the lower alcohols in the mixed gas at the outlet of the activated-carbon column reduces to 1/10 of the concentration at the inlet and Tb is defined as a time when the concentration of the halogenated hydrocarbons in the mixed gas at the outlet of the activated-carbon column reduces to 1/10 of the concentration at the inlet, Ta/Tb is 0.9-1.1.
