PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card system for paying a benefit in a cashless manner to a hospitalized patient and the like, managing a use limit amount per day, and recognizing details of use situations. SOLUTION: The benefit management system includes: a card storing card identification information and a charged benefit; a card reader/writer terminal performing reading/writing on the card; and a benefit management server. The server previously registers a use limit amount per a day of the card in a benefit condition setting table, and each use of the benefit, receives a use amount and the card identification information from the card reader/writer terminal to record them along with a use date in a card use information table. When receiving a use request of the benefit from the card reader/writer terminal, the server calculates the total of use amount of the day and determines whether an amount found by adding an amount of the use request to the calculated total exceeds the use limit amount or not. When the use limit amount is not exceeded, approval of use of the benefit is notified. When the use limit is exceeded, refusal of use of the benefit is replied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
