Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic olefin-based resin molded article which is not discolored even when it is subjected to a sulfonation treatment and has durability. SOLUTION: When an olefin-based resin molded article is subjected to a sulfonation treatment, the hydrophilic olefin-based resin molded article is obtained by subjecting the olefin-based resin molded article to a physical surface treatment for hydrophilization. The olefin-based resin molded article having a ratio (O1/OO) of 1.5-7.0 is used, wherein the ratio (O1/OO) denotes a ratio of the value (O1) of the percentage of the number of oxygen atoms after the surface treatment to the value (OO) of the percentage of the number of oxygen atoms before the surface treatment when the surface state of the molded article subjected to the physical surface treatment is measured with an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analyzer.
