PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seam welding method and seam welding equipment which are capable of seam welding workpieces of various shape at a high quality level while accurately correcting a welding track in a simple manner. SOLUTION: The seam welding equipment 10 welds the workpiece 20 held by a robot 80 while delivering the workpiece 20 between a pair of electrode rolls 16. The seam welding equipment 10 includes a load cell 90 mounted on the robot 80, for detecting a load imposed along a Y direction which is perpendicular to a pressing direction Z along which the electrode rolls 16 press the workpiece 20 at a weld point Pw and a delivering direction X along which the robot 80 delivers the workpiece 20 at the weld point Pw, a robot controller 94 and an arithmetic unit 96, a turning mechanism 26 for turning the electrode rolls 16 about the pressing direction Z, and a control device 82 for controlling the turning mechanism 26 to operate depending on the magnitude of the load in the Y direction detected by the load cell 90.
