Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a curable fluoroelastomer composition having improved sealing properties, that is, improved compression set on O-ring, and improved dynamic properties shown as improved combination of stress and elongation at break. SOLUTION: The curable fluoroelastomer composition is a vinylidenfluoride (VDF)-based fluoroelastomer composition curable by ionic route comprising: (a) 100 pts.wt of a VDF-based fluoroelastomer containing a polar end group in an amount lower than 3 mol% to the total amount of end groups; (b) 0.05-5 phr of a reaction accelerating agent; (c) 0.5-15 phr of a hardening agent; (d) 1-40 phr of one or more bivalent metal oxides as inorganic acid acceptors; (e) 0-2.5 phr, preferably 0-1.5 phr, of one or more hydroxides of bivalent metals or of weak acid metal salts as basic compounds; and (f) 0-80 phr of a reinforcing filler.
