PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush for an image forming apparatus capable of applying stable cleaning capability to a member with which the brush comes into contact in a space saving state or charge imparting capability to a developer, thereby forming a high-quality excellent image, and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The brush 13 for the image forming apparatus is used to remove the developer adhering to an image forming processing member or impart a charge to the developer in the image forming apparatus, and includes base fabric 15 composed of woven fabric obtained by weaving a plurality of warps 15a and woofs 15b extending in directions crossing each other, and a plurality of pile yarn bundles 16 comprising a plurality of pile yarns 17 which are woven in the base fabric 15 in a bent state so as to make a twined yarn wraparound it with either the warp 15a or the woof 15b as the twisted yarn, and napped on the base fabric. The shape of the pile yarn bundle 16 is set so that a length in a direction crossing a moving direction of the image forming processing member with which the pile yarn bundle 16 comes into contact is made longer than a length in the moving direction of the image forming processing member with which the pile yarn bundle 16 comes into contact.
