Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection video display that enables a user to set a starting mode suitable for next-time use of the device through easy operation and can be, therefore, used by a user who is not familiar with how to use the device. SOLUTION: The projection video display includes a stop mode storage unit which stores whether video projection is stopped by turning off a main power source or by operating a remote controller, and has a learning mode configured such that when the main power source is temporarily turned off and then turned on next time, a control unit performs control to set: a direct start mode when the stop mode that the stop mode storage unit stores is initiated by turning off the main power source; and a standby start mode when the stop mode that the stop mode storage unit stores is initiated by operating the remote controller.
