Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar heat source having high efficiency in converting electric energy into thermal energy. SOLUTION: The planar heat source includes a substrate, a heating element fitted on a surface of the substrate and at least two electrodes electrically connected with the heating element. The heating element includes at least a carbon nanotube linear structure which includes a plurality of carbon nanotubes.
