Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of power generation performance regardless of the temperature, even in the case temperature upon starting of a fuel cell is low. SOLUTION: The fuel cell is provided with an electrolyte, an anode catalyst layer arranged interposing the electrolyte, and a cathode catalyst layer. An anode diffusion layer is arranged on the opposite side to the side in contact with the electrolyte of the anode catalyst layer, and a cathode diffusion layer is arranged on the opposite side to the side in contact with the electrolyte of the cathode catalyst layer. The anode diffusion layer is provided with a portion in which a permeation pressure showing the promptness of starting permeation of liquid when it contacts liquid in a prescribed dry state is lower than the cathode diffusion layer.
