Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that corrects a magnification chromatic aberration while suppressing a rise in cost, and obtains a peripheral image with high visibility even in a dark circumference. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 10 includes a photographic optical system 11 which forms a subject image on an imaging element 16, and an image processing unit 12 which corrects and outputs image data from the imaging element 16. An optical cut filter 13 is provided such that an upper-limit value of wavelength of light to be allowed to be transmitted is made smaller as the distance from an optical axis L of the photographic optical system 11 is made larger between the photographic optical system 11 and the imaging element 16 so that light in the infrared range may be allowed to be transmitted on the optical axis L of the photographic optical system on an imaging plate 16a of the imaging element 16 and may be disallowed to be transmitted at a position of the farthest distance from the optical axis L. The image processing unit 12 corrects the image data on the basis of a correction expression matching the upper-limit value of the transmission wavelength of the optical cut filter according to the distance from the optical axis among a plurality of correction expressions differing in wavelength range of object light.
