Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction throttle valve for a screw compressor and the screw compressor with the same for reducing the pressure loss while having a checking function. SOLUTION: The suction throttle valve 2 for the screw compressor includes a piston 12 slidably disposed in a cylinder 11b, a shaft 13 extended from the piston 12 to the downstream side of a suction bent flow passage 11a, a valve seat 11c formed on the downstream side of the suction bent flow passage 11a, a valve plate 14 positioned on the downstream side of the valve seat 11c and inserted slidably with respected to the shaft 13 so as to open and close the valve seat 11c, a stopper part 13a formed on a distal end of the shaft 13 and restricting sliding of the valve plate 14 to the downstream side, a spring 15 for imparting energizing force to move the stopper part 13a of the shaft 13 to the downstream side to the piston 12, and an operation pressure system 16 for imparting pressure to move the stopper part 13a of the shaft 13 to the upstream side against energizing force of the spring 15 to the piston 12.
