Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress "the sense of incompatibility that the steering force during a counter-steering operation is reduced contrary to expectation" felt by a skilled driver, when applying a stabilizing force to a steering operation member for inducing or assisting the counter-steering operation, when the counter-steering operation is necessary. SOLUTION: Stabilizing torque Tstb for inducing or assisting the counter-steering operation is calculated based on a yawing value Ygc (over-steer state quantity Jros, a longitudinal force difference hFx), corresponding to a yawing motion of a vehicle, and a counter-steer value Cstr representing a degree of counter-steer (a counter-steer attained value Cts, a counter-steer deficient value Cfs). The Tstb is applied to a steering wheel in a counter-steer direction. The Tstb is set larger, when Cts is smaller (Cfs is larger) (when an appropriate counter-steer operation is not performed), and is set smaller, when Cts is larger (Cfs is smaller) (when appropriate counter-steer operation is performed).
