Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a troweling material where the workability of troweling is significantly improved because of excellent releasing characteristics from a trowel exhibiting no stickiness to the trowel when soil, sand and a wood powder-based lightweight aggregate are used, where pasted soil and sand walls requiring much labor and being particular in Japanese walls are easily reproducible, which has excellent troweling workability and where trowel-pressing at finishing can be easily performed. SOLUTION: The troweling material where one or more powdery carrageenans having 6-membered galactose skeleton on which a sulfuric ester group and a hydroxy group are equatorially conformed as effective ingredients are blended at a ratio of 0.1-10 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of at least one base material selected from soil, sand, and wood powders is used for troweling on a wall surface after being kneaded with water.
