Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tank cap of a fuel tank capable of positively closing an opening of a communication hole when a vehicle turnovers and at the same time capable of opening the opening of the communication hole smoothly when the vehicle is inverted again to stand. SOLUTION: The tank cap of the fuel tank comprises: a packing member 5 for use in sealing a fuel feeding port through being abutted against a substantial entire region of the edge part of the fuel feeding port under a state in which a tank cap body 1 is fixed to the fuel feeding port; a communication hole 9a to cause an inner side of the fuel tank and an outside of the fuel tank to be communicated to each other and enabling air to be flowed there; and a shielding member 8 capable of closing the opening port of the communication hole 9a and shielding it. The shielding member 8 forms a plate-like member when the vehicle turnovers, the shielding member 8 and an opening edge of the communication hole 9a are made of a magnetic material, the shielding member 8 is magnetized and they attract each other through magnetic force to cause the opening port of the communication hole 9a to be closed and shielded.
