Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine intake device improving intake volumetric efficiency at high engine speed in a compact structure. SOLUTION: This intake device includes: a surge tank 20 sectioned into a first air chamber 22R, a second air chamber 22L, and a center air chamber 22C; first communication hole groups 24-1, 24-3, 24-5 communicating with right bank cylinders and opened in the first air chamber 22R and center air chamber 22C; second communication hole groups 24-2, 24-4, 24-6 communicating with left bank cylinders and opened in the second air chamber 22L and center air chamber 22C; and communication control mechanisms 40R, 40L communicating the first communication hole groups with only the first air chamber 22R and also communicating the second communication hole groups with only the second air chamber 22L during low engine speed, communicating the first communication hole groups and second communication hole groups with only the center air chamber 22C during the high engine speed, and also guiding intake pulsation so that the intake pulsation from each cylinder interferes in the center air chamber.
