Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively enhance state discrimination accuracy of conventional state discrimination of a storage battery for a vehicle for performing a detection process of the storage battery voltage of each mode such as operation, stop and engine start and the like of the vehicle and determining a deterioration state and displaying its result. SOLUTION: This state discriminating device is provided with a voltage detection means 9 for detecting the battery voltage of the storage battery 2 for the vehicle and a means for detecting a charging and discharging current flowing through the storage battery 2. As a means for detecting the charging and discharging current flowing through the storage battery for the vehicle, a means for detecting the charging and discharging current of the storage battery for the vehicle from a voltage generated at a harness 7 for electrically connecting a negative pole terminal 6 of the storage battery for the vehicle and the vehicle is provided. It is possible to improve the state discriminating accuracy of the storage battery for the vehicle by using the detected charging and discharging current and the detected voltage.
