Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a collision with a pedestrian running out in the front of one's own vehicle while chasing a ball. SOLUTION: When an obstacle in front of the one's own vehicle (100) is a play article (300) such as a ball, the steering of the one's own vehicle (100) is controlled in the advancing direction of the play article (300) (Figs.3(c), (e)). When the obstacle is the pedestrian (200), the steering of the one's own vehicle (100) is controlled in the opposite direction of the moving direction of the pedestrian (200) (Figs.3(b), (d)). When a position of the pedestrian (200) is "the right side" and "the left from the right" direction in the moving direction in front of the one's own vehicle (100), or the position of the pedestrian (200) is "the left side" and "the right from the left" direction in the moving direction, avoidance steering is not performed.
