PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication device for providing a guidance customized for each user in advance to reduce errors in authentication. SOLUTION: The biometric authentication device is provided with: biometrics registration authentication information 401 and error factor data 402 recorded in advance in an IC card 212 for each user; a biometrics reading authentication device 228 for acquiring user biometrics reading authentication information 405; a plurality of pieces of error prevention guidance information 403 stored in a recording apparatus; a display means 220 for displaying the error prevention guidance information 403; and a control apparatus 229. The control apparatus 229 extracts specific individual guidance information 404 from the plurality of pieces of error prevention guidance information 403 on the basis of the error factor data 402, displays the extracted specific individual guidance information 404 on the display means 220, and collates the biometrics reading authentication information 405 acquired from the biometrics reading authentication device 228 with the biometrics registration authentication information 401 to determine authenticity.
