Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set scores based on various characteristics to faces detected from moving images, and to generate index information comprised of faces selected by the scores. SOLUTION: A score that corresponds to a face detected from an image frame, a positional score according to a position of a face, for example, in the frame, a size score according to the size of the face, a face evaluation value score according to a degree of likeness of a face, and a distance score according to difference of detected positions with the preceding face detection frame, and the like are calculated, and a face image with high total score calculated based on the scores is preferentially adopted to an index.
