Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make peeling of belt-shaped protrusions due to vibration in transportation of a liquid crystal display device scarcely occur. SOLUTION: The optical plate 10 is used for a backlight unit, wherein a plurality of belt-shaped protrusions respectively constituting lenses or prisms is arranged on a light-emitting surface 12 to emit illumination light toward a liquid crystal display panel, and is characterized in that the plurality of belt-shaped protrusions assumes a wave pattern when seen from a direction normal to the light-emitting surface 12.
