Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce erroneous detection when paper information is detected and to certainly determine double feeding by determining double feeding of paper from the first paper even when a paper storage means is switched. SOLUTION: Two paper information detection means 200 of the paper conveying device are provided, and a double feeding determination means 310 performs determination of the double feeding based on the input paper information regarding the first paper of the paper feeding tray 21. When the first paper is not double feeding, the means 310 performs determination of double feeding on and after that based on the paper information of the first paper obtained from the paper information detection means 200.
