Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of efficiently performing an IMT inspection by simple processing in a medical examination. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprises: a signal processing means for generating envelope data by executing at least envelope detection processing to detection signals outputted from a probe for ultrasonic waves; an image data generation means for generating image data indicating an ultrasonic image relating to an object on the basis of the envelope data; a region-of-interest setting means for setting the region of interest in the ultrasonic image indicated by the image data generated by the image data generation means; a pre-measurement processing means for executing structure image generation proessing to the envelope data corresponding to the region of interest set using the region-of-interest setting means; and a measurement means for performing measurement on the basis of the envelope data to which the processing is executed by the pre-measurement processing means.
