Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast program viewing system and method capable of providing many more information items to a viewer as well as provided information superimposed on a broadcast radio wave. SOLUTION: The broadcast program viewing system includes: a display apparatus for displaying a video image of a broadcast program and information associated with the broadcast program; and a television program viewing apparatus that acquires the program information of the broadcast program via a network, extracts a word used for a keyword from the program information, acquires information associated with the word from a Web site on the network and searched by using the extracted word, and allows the display apparatus to display the information acquired from the Web site together with the video image of the broadcast program during viewing.
