Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce current consumption in the case of an arithmetic operation while reducing memory capacity used for a look-up table (LUT) when performing drive control of an image display part such as a liquid crystal panel using overdrive control. SOLUTION: When there is a change in the gray scale of an input video signal and in the gray scale of an input video signal of one frame before, an operation part 22 decides whether or not the gray scale of the input video signal of one frame before has less than 64 gradations, and when it is decided that the gray scale of the input video signal of one frame before has less than 64 gradations, a correction value is formed according to the gray scale of the input video signal of one frame before and that of the input video signal. An adder 23 corrects the input video signal according to this correction value to obtain a corrected video signal, and a driving part 24 performs drive control of the image display part such as the liquid crystal panel 12 according to the corrected video signal.
