Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jitter correcting method and a circuit capable of correcting the deviation of input data caused by the influence of jitters etc., without depending upon the pattern of the input data. SOLUTION: Coupled data (D) are generated one after another which are coupled by adding the LSB of data (C) one bit before and the MSB of data (A) one bit after to reference data (B). When a change between a reference bit and a bit which is directly adjacent thereto is detected by referring to respective bits of the coupled data (D) one after another, and a change among three adjacent bits including the reference bit, wherein the number of reference reaches a multiple of oversampling, is not detected, change position display data (E) wherein the direct adjacent bit is regarded as a change bit of the reference data (B) are generated and the number of times of reference is initialized, but the number of times of reference is increased when the change is not detected and the number of times of reference does not reach the multiple either.
