Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing the furnace wall of the coking chamber of a coke oven, which lessens the damage of a furnace wall and lengthens the service life of a furnace wall. SOLUTION: In repairing a recessed part 1 formed on a furnace wall 5, a flame spray material 2 is sprayed on the recessed part until the material has depth of the middle of a set target to form a flame spray material layer 11 to become an under layer. After the flame spray material layer 11 is formed to the middle of the recessed part 1, a coke oven is operated in this state, carbon 4 is deposited on the flame spray material unpacked portion of the recessed part 1 to form a carbon layer 12 to become an upper layer on the flame spray material layer 11. The recessed part 1 is infilled and the recessed part 1 is flatly repaired by spray of the flame spray material 2 to proper depth and formation of the carbon layer 12 on the flame spray material unpacked part.
