Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of a blower by reducing collision loss in a centrifugal blower including a backward impeller. SOLUTION: In the backward impeller for the centrifugal blower provided with a casing and a multiple blade impeller rotatably supported in the casing, a plurality of blades having chord length from an outer circumference edge to a middle of an inner circumference edge of the impeller are provided along a circumference of the impeller with even intervals, and roughly triangular extension parts making a leading edge part bent forward in a rotary direction in a stream line shape and making the leading edge reach an inner edge part of the impeller are provided at the leading edge part of each plurality of blades.
