Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing carbon pellets, by which the carbon pellets can be produced without using a large amount of binder; to provide the carbon pellets; and to provide a method for producing fullerenes or carbon nanotubes using the produced carbon pellets. SOLUTION: A carbon mixture originating in carbon-containing particles floating in a gas is mixed with graphite-like carbon. Thereby, a trace substance in the carbon mixture binds carbon to each other. Consequently, the carbon pellets having a high content of a single substance of carbon can be easily produced by mixing the carbon mixture and the graphite-like carbon without using a large amount of binder and then molding the resulting mixture. Further, because the carbon pellets can be easily produced, a raw material requiring much labor or time is easily formed, and fullerenes or carbon nanotubes can be easily produced.
