Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an optical reflectivity and improve a light-emitting efficiency of a light-emitting device. SOLUTION: The light-emitting device is provided with a base section of a hexagonal crystal system and a light-emission section formed on the base section and is characterized in that the base section includes a light-emission enhancing layer having a planar base plane with light-emission enhancing units each formed in the direction perpendicular to the base plane, each of the light-emission enhancing units formed such that a plurality of slanted planes are joined side by side extending inwards from the base plane and extend parallel to the corresponding planes of symmetry of the plane group represented by the formula 1 of the hexagonal crystal system, wherein the formula 2 is equal to 2 to 5 and a horizontal line written over an integer denotes a minus value.
