Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leak generation rate estimating method and a leak generation rate estimating device for a casting capable of swiftly designing a casting having high reliability, to provide a storage medium stored with a leak generation rate estimating program, to provide a designing method and a production method for a casting, and to provide an automatic transmission case produced by the leak generation rate estimating device for a casting. SOLUTION: The leak generation rate estimating method for a casting is provided with: object extraction steps S1, S2 where a combination of a pair of holes or a combination of a hole and the cast edge face in a casting is extracted from three-dimensional shape data showing three-dimensional shape; characteristic value acquisition steps S3, S5, S6 where, based on the shape of the cast body present in between a pair of the holes or between the hole and the cast edge face which has been extracted, characteristic value shown by the shape is calculated; a generation rate calculation step S9 where, between a pair of the holes or between the hole and the cast edge face, the leak generation rate of a liquid caused by a defect in casting is calculated from the characteristic value; and a result extraction step S10 where a combination having a high leak generation rate is extracted.
