Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green compact of ferrite-coated soft magnetic grains whose direct current superposition properties are improved. SOLUTION: Regarding the method for producing a soft magnetic compact using ferrite-coated soft magnetic grains in which ferrite plating is applied to the surface of each soft magnetic grain grain, the ferrite-plated soft magnetic grains are heat-treated in an oxygen-containing atmosphere, and are thereafter subjected to green compacting and heat treatment after the compacting.
