Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact shake correcting unit capable of correcting the shake of a device in a power saving manner, and an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The shake correcting unit is equipped with: a correction optical system for correcting the blur of an image; a shake detection part for detecting the shake of the device; a frame body; a guiding part extended in a prescribed guiding direction; a moving part for supporting and moving the correction optical system in the guiding direction; a driving part comprising an expansion/contraction member whose one end is fixed on the frame body, whose other end is fixed at the moving part and which moves the moving part in the guiding direction by being expanded and contracted by the application of voltage and the release thereof, and an electrode; and a shake correction control part for correcting the shift of subject light caused by the shake of the device by moving the correction optical system in the guiding direction by applying voltage to the electrode.
