Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens substrate which can display an excellent image excellent in contrast with the occurrence of luminescent spots suppressed, a method which can efficiently produce the lens substrate, a transmission type screen equipped with the lens substrate, and a rear type projector. SOLUTION: The method for producing the lens substrate includes a process for applying a composition having fluidity on a surface in which the recess 61 of a recess-attached member 6 is formed, a solidification process in which the composition is solidified to obtain a substrate body, a process for specifying a defective place 61' where a convex lens is not formed in a desired shape by examining the substrate body, a process in which liquid droplets mainly composed of a material constituting the substrate body are discharged to the defective place 61', and the defective place is corrected by the liquid droplets to obtain a corrected substrate body, and a process for forming a shading part having an opening 81 on a surface opposite to a surface where the convex lens of the substrate body is set.
